Afghanite is a stone named after its place of discovery, the Lapis Lazuli mines in Afghanistan. 
It's a more recent discovery, first found in 1968, so a large amount of information about the associated metaphysical properties isn't easily found due to its short history. Most of the information comes from similar stones that were found in the same mine, namely Lapis Lazuli and Sodalite. The traits assumed from that connection are emotional maturity and intelligence, a stronger intuition, helping process grief and stress relief.

With a Mohs hardness of 5.5-6 it's on the softer side than what is usually suggested for jewelry and stronger impacts and scratches can be visible.
